Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you start.
- Is Language Habit free?
- Yes. You can use the full vocabulary system, placement test, reading, quizzes, daily challenges, and spaced repetition for free, with no credit card. A Pro plan with extra features is coming soon.
- Which languages can I learn?
- Language Habit supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish, with more on the way. Content depth varies by language and keeps growing.
- How does spaced repetition work?
- Every word you learn is scheduled with an SM-2 algorithm. It shows you each word again right before you’d naturally forget it, which is the most efficient way to move vocabulary into long-term memory. The home page shows how many words are due and when your next review is.
- Do I need to know my level before starting?
- No. A short, adaptive placement test puts you at the right CEFR level (A1–C2) in a few minutes, so you never waste time on words you already know.
- What is "learn in context"?
- It’s a feature that teaches vocabulary, slang, and common chunks from real TV dialogue. You can browse scenes, filter by character, and see exactly which episode and timestamp each example comes from.
- How much time do I need each day?
- A few focused minutes is enough. The app is designed around small daily sessions, with streaks, daily challenges, and weekly goals to help you keep the habit.
- Can I use it on my phone?
- Yes. Language Habit runs in any modern browser and is fully responsive, so it works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
